Sikandar Raza is one of the high-profile ambassadors of new mobile game SIXR Cricket.
SIXR Cricket offers a unique proposition where fans compete for the chance to play a live online match against a professional cricket star. Sikandar is one of them, along with the likes of KL Rahul, Chris Gayle and Eoin Morgan.
“Every cricket fan has imagined taking on their favourite player,” said Ahad Bhai, co-founder and CEO of SIXR Cricket. “Fans play the game, earn their entries, and if they come through the draw and win the knockout, they face the actual star live on camera.”
Sikandar Raza was impressed with the SIXR Cricket concept and looks forward to connecting with fans
Sikandar, who has played 325 internationals for Zimbabwe, said that fan interaction with players is often limited to just selfies and autographs. SIXR offers the opportunity to bridge that gap.
”I was interested to be a part of this project because it connects the bridge between players and fans. Fans always want to be closer to the players but they don’t usually get a chance to engage with us,” Raza told media this week.
“I love this game because it allows fans to engage with the stars – and that is really cool.
“I think the fans only get to see it across the rope and there hardly is interaction. Even if there is interaction, it’s limited to just a selfie or an autograph. So I think this is a great idea where some of our fans can actually get a chance to challenge us in a cricket match.
“It will bring the fans a lot closer to the cricketing heroes they have.”
SIXR Cricket is free and available through Powerplay, SIXR’s platform for the game, collectibles, and leaderboards. Playing SIXR Cricket earns entries into a draw, from which 16 players are selected for a knockout tournament.
The winner plays a cricketer in the headline match, the first of which will be against KL Rahul later this month.
