T Natarajan will be back in the orange of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for the 2027 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. SRH completed a player trade with Delhi Capitals (DC) for legspinner Zeeshan Ansari, as confirmed by Cricbuzz.

Natarajan was a regular for SRH between 2020 and 2024. He took 19 wickets in his last season, playing a key role in their run to the final.

Ansari took three wickets against DC on debut in IPL 2025. He did not feature in 2026, paving the way for a move elsewhere. An opportunity awaits at DC after Kuldeep Yadav’s move to Lucknow Super Giants.

T Natarajan back in SRH colours, will be key in their title push in IPL 2027

DC had acquired Natarajan in 2025 for a INR 10.75 crore. He will join SRH at a revised fee of INR 5 crore, while Ansari’s fee of INR 40 lakh remains the same.

At his best, Natarajan is one of the finest exponents of the yorker. That skill will be vital on what is expected to be more batting-friendly wickets in 2027. His IPL economy rate of 9.21 is more than serviceable given the overs he typically bowls in.

Along with Natarajan, SRH have the likes of Eshan Malinga and Sakib Hussain who can hold their own at the death. Praful Hinge also made a strong impression in IPL 2026.

Those bowling options could free Pat Cummins up to be that all-important middle overs enforcer, provided the SRH captain is fit and available after a host of Test matches for Australia.
